If you live in Victoria and use HID floodlights in your house or business, you are eligible for a free LED replacement. However, we may require a minimum number of old lights to be upgraded to qualify.

Common Issues with HID Lights

High Energy Costs

The most significant advantage of LED floodlights is a low operational cost. HID floodlights incur almost double running costs than LED floodlights.

High Maintenance Costs

Replacement bulbs of HID floodlights cost high. Additionally, they are typically installed at hard-to-enter places such as stadiums, gyms, warehouses, parking areas or garages. Changing a light bulb at such places translates into spending additional replacement cost on lifts and technicians. Longer life of LED lighting means that you less often need to replace light bulbs.

HID floodlights also require a functioning ballast. LED floodlights do not require a ballast. The upgrading to LED floodlight, therefore, reduces the replacement cost for every ballast attached to a HID floodlight fixture.

Low Lighting Performance

HID floodlights light output begins to depreciate when they reach half of their lifespan. Moreover, HID lamps will turn pink, green, or purple after some operational hours.

Advantages of LED Floodlights over HID or Metal Halides?

Compared with their older halogen and incandescent predecessors, LED floodlights deliver many advantages. The less operating power of LED floodlights translates into lower energy bills. In addition, the long lifespan of LED floodlights ensures that you spend less money on replacement & maintenance costs.

LED light bulbs are usually fed with an integrated LED driver, which can be directly connected to your power supply 230 volt/50 Hz. This eliminates the need for an additional ballast required for HID floodlights.
