Summer in Australia can be brutal, with scorching temperatures making life uncomfortable indoors. A reliable reverse cycle split system air conditioner isn’t just a luxury — it’s a necessity for staying cool, reducing energy bills on air-conditioning and stay comfortable during those sweltering months.

The reverse cycle is a dual use technology, and these air-conditioners can also help you stay warm during the wintertime.

The Victorian government is currently offering rebates on reverse cycle split systems through the Victorian Energy Upgrades program, making it the perfect time to upgrade your home’s cooling system.

But with so many brands and models available on the market, choosing the best split system for your home can be overwhelming. To help you make an informed decision, a poll was conducted by Tim Forcey.

The group was created in 2015, and it has 122.5K active members. The group is dedicated to “improving the comfort and energy performance of Australian homes”.

Most members of this group are from Australia, though Facebook users of outside of Australia can also join the group.

In this survey conducted by Tim, the founder of the MEEH group and author of My Efficient Electric Home Handbook, a total of 1034 individuals voted for the top split system air-conditioner brands in Australia.

The following questions were asked in the poll:

1. Which brand(s) of split system reverse-cycle air conditioner do you own right now?

2. You are happy with your current split system reverse cycle aircon?

3. Which reverse cycle split system aircon brand you would recommend to other members of the Facebook group.
